Kit Name:  The Wolf Man   Scale:  1/8
Manufacturer:  Geometric Designs 1998 Date Built:  June/July 2003

This is the Geometric Designs "vinyl" Wolf Man kit.  The sculpting of this beastie was beautifully done by one of my favorite artist's... Mike Hill.

A nicely detailed sculpt that was originally produced in resin... From what I've been told by a couple of different folks is that when they decided to release it in vinyl, somehow during the molding process there was a bit of shrinkage,  the head is a tad bit smaller and so are the shoulders...  To me this is fine, I like the kit as it is, the unintentional shrinkage gives the character a certain pained and troubled look... As he was played by Chaney in the film...

The resin deluxe base was sold separately and is quite detailed, lots of great textures so it presents the opportunity for a great dry brushing session.  The base was sculpted by the gifted hands of Anthony Mestas and he really did a fantastic job on it...  This was a fun kit to build and I really enjoyed painting it, despite it's afore mentioned slight imperfections... It's a beautiful looking piece when completed.

Although Geometric no longer sells the vinyl version, you can still find them on E-bay from time to time....  Or you can pick up the resin version directly from Geometric Deigns. I would not hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone that is a fan of the Wolf Man or of Classic Horror kits in general...
